Around Brændegård lake (8.5 km)

This route takes you all the way around the large Brændegård Sø lake, through woods and across open fields and meadows. All year round, you have excellent opportunities to see a variety of birds by the lake. The best time of the year is August, when the white-tailed eagles teach their young to fish in the lake. You also have a good chance of spotting ospreys, marsh harriers, sparrow hawks and common buzzards. In spring and autumn, large flocks of grey geese visit the lake to rest and recuperate.

Parking: at the car park on Pilegyden, 5752 Vester Skerninge (700 metres east of Brændegård).
